Our Programmes

For all our children in our PikopikoNgā Whetu and Just-for-kids programmes:

  • We aim to provide opportunities for their holistic development with a safe, caring and fun environment with focus on learning alongside others.
  • We work to enhance their perceptual motor development, emergent literacy and numeracy, and nurturing their interest in learning.
  • We promote an appreciation of routines and expectations and being part of a group. Our sessions are a balance of these routines and self selected play.
  • We run a sessional programme called Just 4 Kids, catering to the learning needs of 3½ — 5 year olds with a focus on developing the skills and independence needed for the transition to future learning.

Don’t Miss Out!

Our Centre is very popular, but spaces can sometimes be limited. To ensure a place for your child, please come in and talk to us to pre-enroll or book, as there may be a waiting list.

Country Kids by name – Country Kids by nature!

We take full advantage of our rural setting by going to watch the shearing, exploring life in the paddocks, or hand feeding the sheep when they come to the fence now they are all grown up after we fed them as lambs in our centre.

We can walk across the paddocks to the Moutere Recreation Centre to use their Gym for our Olympics, or take bikes for our regular bike days, or play soccer or go on the playground there. There are also planned excursions to explore places further afield.

Every week we have contracted Lee Corlett to come and present Perceptual Motor Programmes to help the children’s physical development and a better understanding of themselves which leads them to being able to learn more freely.
