SportStart

SportStart Subsidy is available for childrens’ activities at Moutere Hills Community Centre. You can apply for $30.00 per child, twice a year towards any of our physical activity programmes. SportStart is a grants scheme that has been made available through a joint initiative of Work and Income, Nelson Marlborough District Health Board and Way2Go allowing young people to take part in sport and physical activity by providing assistance where financial hardship is a barrier to participation. Babysitting Course

The Plunket facilitated Babysitting Certificate is happening at Moutere Hills Community Centre on Sunday 15th August,10am – 2.30pm. This fantastic unit highlights the responsibilities of a caregiver whilst giving them the tools and ideas to assist with becoming a great asset to the family. The cost is $30 per person and following the course, successful students will be able to post an advert offering their services on the Community Centre website and in the next edition of the Grapevine. There are just a few places left so please be in touch if you would like to take part.

Child Safety Information – Plunket/TDC

Plunket & Tasman District Council invite everyone in the Moutere region to a Child Safety Information Session on 11th Aug, 3.00-4.30 at Moutere Hills Community Centre. Two key issues will be addressed: Car Seat Checks – Up-to-date information on correct installation/use of your own car seat plus latest guidelines for Booster Seats. Driveway Runover Kit – This visually impacting demonstration really drives home the issue of children on and around driveways.

After School Hockey

A new hockey club will be running at Moutere Hills Community Centre on Fridays after school (commencing 6th August) for 5-9 year olds inclusive. Practice will begin at 4.00pm and run until 4.45pm. If you have shin pads and studded boots, please bring them along but they are not essential. We will provide hockey sticks and all the fun.
