Playground construction begins!

It has taken a long time in the planning but finally the construction of our new under two’s playground is under way. It will provide a separate and safe area away from the older children for them to carry out their activities.

This is the final planed development under the renovation project that began at Country Kids three years ago this month. The playground is to be raised up to within 200mm of the deck height which will allow the under two age group easy access inside or out.

The deck area is also to have clear PVC drop down blinds put around which will make a warm dry space on those wet cold days.

Thankyou to The Canterbury Community trust for their grant of $10,000 towards the cost of the playground. Fundraising and donations from the Sarau festival has also gone towards it.

We thank the Lion Foundation for their grant of $4,400 towards the cost of the blinds.

The Board has agreed to fund the shortfall that is needed to complete the project.
